Hey everybody! Welcome to Safe Space With Sariah!
2021, 2020, and honestly all the way back to 2017 has been filled with so much grief for me! I have grieved a school and city. I have grieved a career. I have grieved breastfeeding. I have grieved the life I thought I was going to have. I have grieved a house. And most recently, I am grieving my father who unexpectedly passed away January 17, 2021. It has been extremely HARD being a wife, a mom, a grad student, and a worship leader on top of grieving so many things at once. Last week, I finally got to a breaking point where I just sat in my bed and cried; a really good soul cleansing cry. It was at that moment I knew I needed an outlet and knew I needed to put my energy into something that made me happy so I decided to start blogging again.
I call it "safe space" because it truly is that for me! Blogging is so therapeutic. It allows me to be transparent and get my feelings out! Blogging is how I process situations and cope with my thoughts and emotions. Y'all, I have stories for DAYSSS surrounding all of the things I have grieved over the last 4-5 years, and I want to share them. I know there are many who will read my blogs and will relate to what I have and am currently going through. I don't think there is one person on this earth that can say they haven't grieved something or someone this past year and a half! The purpose of my blog is to share my life's stories and how I have coped with the losses I have had. Some days are really good and some days are really bad. I don't believe that I have gone through these losses and experiences for nothing. I have gone through them so that I can help somebody else!
Not only have I started writing again, but I have also decided to start vlogging as well! Driving in my car is where my mind starts rolling the movie of my life, and it is so easy for me to talk and recount my stories in the car. (Don't worry, my phone is mounted so both hands are on the wheel while I'm driving lol) My vlogs will be available to watch on my YouTube channel: Safe Space With Sariah. So be sure to check those videos out and don't forget to like and subscribe! I also decided to leave some singing videos up so I hope you enjoy those too! You can also follow me on Facebook and Instagram @safespacewithsariah.
Before we go, let me introduce you to my family! You'll be seeing and reading a lot about them in the coming posts!
This is us Christmas 2020 in Disney World!
Lee and I just celebrated 4 years of marriage on July 15, 2021. (To read more about Lee and I, search the #theFamilyChronicles on my website) We have 1 daughter, Avery. She will be 2 on September 8.
I hope something you read will help you, encourage you, or at the very least make you smile or laugh!
Until next time y'all...
